I’m not a fish lover, but it’s time for me to say goodbye to the next-to-nothing fish I had to throw away last week.
Fish are beautiful and delicious, but they’re also not something I’ll always be eating, nor should they be the only food I take.
If you’re a fish-eating vegetarian or vegan, you may have noticed that I’ve been skipping out on a few of the fish that I had in my freezer last week (the last one being the sea bream I got at the market).
I’ll be honest, I never thought of the bream as my staple food because I’ve never had a whole head of it.
I’m not sure why I skipped out on it.
It was on the list of fish I was missing from my fridge, but I didn’t eat it.
I was thinking, Maybe I’m just too lazy to cook and then have to hunt down fresh fish to get my fix.
Well, not so fast.
Breams of salmon are a great alternative to fish, but don’t get me wrong.
I eat them every week or two.
But, what if you’re looking to make your fish-free diet even more vegan?
It turns out, the salmon you eat is actually a lot more nutritious than the ones you eat for lunch.
So, if you’ve been avoiding the fish, and you’ve just been wondering, what do I eat instead?
Well I’m glad you asked.
To make this easy salmon salad, I used fresh, seasonal produce, and I added some crunchy vegan flaxseed to make it a great snack.
The salmon salad is really easy to make, and the only ingredients you’ll need are a couple of spoons of fresh lemon juice and a few tablespoons of olive oil.
It’s also a great way to replace the fish I’ve skipped last week when I had a bad day and had to eat the fish-less salmon instead.
Here’s how you make the salmon salad:
