The number of dead fish that washed up on a swai fishing spot in northern New South Wales has risen to at least 15, according to a report by the state’s Department of Fisheries and Conservation.
The report says a swan found its way into a boat and washed ashore on Monday morning, but that swans are no longer a common sight in the area.
The department says swans have been spotted in the river in recent years.
