A new species of dead fish from the Philippines has been discovered and named by scientists

A new dead fish species from the Philippine island of Palawan has been named after its founder.

The species, called Basa fish and described in the latest issue of Science, is the first recorded living species of Basa, a deep-sea fish endemic to the island of Pangasinan.
